About the author of Jane Austen’s Guide to Dating: The Regency Rules

 

The author Rebecca Chance is also known as Lauren Milne Henderson, a freelance journalist, and novelist.

She is the author of “glamorous thrillers,” “bonkbusters,” “chick lit,” mysteries, “tart noir,” romantic comedies, and young adults.

Pieces of literature that have influenced her are Jackie Collins, Peter O’Donnell, Agatha Christie, Judith Krantz, Georgette Heyer, P.G. Wodehouse, Barbara Pym, and A. N. Roquelaure.

Henderson wrote 17 books under her name between 1996 and 2011. She wrote exclusively under the name Rebecca Chance from 2009 until now.

Her first degree was in English Literature at Cambridge University. After graduating, she worked for a few years as a journalist.

In addition to working for newspapers and music magazines, Henderson wrote several newspapers and an independent music magazine. She then moved to Tuscany to learn Italian while writing books.

She moved to New York City after eight years. Jane Austen’s Guide to Dating is a by-product of her experiences dating in New York City. A collection of Henderson’s works are in 20 languages.
