Lost Planet – Extreme Condition

Lost Planet is set in the brutal frozen tundra of a hostile environment.  The game pits players against giant, ugly indigenous creatures and invading nasties.

You take on the role of Wayne Holden, rescued from a veil of ice with only fragments of his memory remains. What he does remember is the slaying of his father at the hands of the monstrous beings. With only the Snow Pirates, the native Akrid, and the mysterious NEVEC corporation left on the planet, you must work out who to trust and battle for survival.

Working on foot and with your VS (Vital Suit, a giant mechanical armour) you must navigate the world hunting for answers. In addition to fighting the assorted giant monsters and other nastiness, players must also battle the cold. By killing the Akrid, players can extract minerals from their bodies in order to stay alive.

Players will also get the opportunity to play online with a multiplayer mode. Allowing up to 16 players to duke it out. There are four modes to choose from: Elimination (a deathmatch); Team Elimination (a deathmatch in teams); Post Grab (grab as many posts as possible); and Fugitive Hunt (which pits one player against the others). History of Lost Planet

The series of this video game consists of three instalments: Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (2006), Lost Planet 2 (2010), and Lost Planet 3 (2013). They developed two internally by Capcom, while Spark Unlimited developed Lost Planet 3 externally. Lost Planet: Extreme Condition was the first title.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. approached David Hayter (he voiced in the Metal Gear Solid video game series and wrote X-Men, X2: X-Men United, and Watchmen) in July 2008 to write and direct a film adaptation.

Consequently, to produce a film based on this game, they announced a partnership between Capcom and Warner Brothers on July 15, 2008.

Producers Avi and Ari Arad, known for The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man, are also involved. Although they had no cast yet, the film released year was 2013.

Hayter indicated that he had written a few drafts of the screenplay adaptation of Capcom. And they ran into “internal issues” with a few companies, leading to the delay in the project.
