About the author of How To Know God

Originally from British India, Chopra is the son of Krishan Lal Chopra (1919-2001) and Pushpa Chopra.

His father was a prominent cardiologist. He headed the medicine and cardiology department at New Delhi’s Moolchand Khairati Ram Hospital for over 25 years.

In addition, his father served as a captain in the British army, a doctor at Burma’s front lines, and a medical advisor to Lord Mountbatten, viceroy of India.

Chopra graduated in 1969 from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences after completing his primary education at St. Columba’s School in New Delhi.

After spending six months working as a doctor in rural India, he spent the rest of his training in Chennai.

At age 19, he became interested in endocrinology, specifically in neuroendocrinology. He was curious to know how thoughts and emotions were able to be influenced by the brain?

In 1970 he and his wife married in India and emigrated to the United States the following year.

He completed his internal medicine residency at the VA Medical Center, St Elizabeth’s Medical Center, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston between 1971 and 1977.

In 1973, he earned his medical license in Massachusetts, gaining board certification in internal medicine and endocrinology.

According to Chopra, it is possible to achieve perfect health, a condition free of disease, never feels pain, and cannot age or die.

Because of the idea that the body is of a physical quantum mechanical body, he believes that “human ageing can be fluid and changeable, even reversible,” depending on how one views it.

He claims to treat chronic diseases with his practices.
